TA Express Birmingham

This place is gross but 2 stars for free parking and nice staff. Whats the point of 24/7 armed security when I still have lot lizards banging on my door all night? Parking lot is filthy with garbage and smells of urine. Just nasty here.

Overall Rating: 7/10 The Good: Cleanest stop in Birmingham If you’re looking for a clean spot, this is it. It’s almost like going to your grandmother's house. The store is spotless and the bathrooms are actually cared for—no skid marks in the toilets or grime on the floors. For a truck stop, that’s a massive win. Parking & Security It’s a small lot, maybe 25 free spaces and about 10 reserved ($18). The neighborhood felt quiet, but they clearly take security seriously. There were 2 to 3 police patrolling during the day and security at night. This might be because of past issues—I noticed some cuts in the fencing where trucks had been broken into—but the heavy police presence made me feel much safer. Food They have an Arby's on-site and a chicken/biscuit spot that runs roughly 8 AM to 6 PM. If you want a real meal, "Yo Chef" is a half-mile walk and definitely worth it. The Bad: The Laundry "Scam" The laundry situation was the only major downside. They use the CSC system, and it is a headache. I put $3 in coins into the dryer, it just sat there "processing," and I never got my cycle. TA won't refund you; you have to wait for the laundry company to eventually pay you back. Most drivers

Updated based on several stops. People are very kind and friendly. There are no issues with parking. Security officer. Good food on the hot side, fresh. Spotless, probably one of the cleanest! Inside and out. Always well-stocked. 🚿 $17 with no points. The staff is just great! Still one of the best stops in the area, feel safe. Arby's and Duncan are coming soon.
